Reckoning the Dead
Unearthing the greats who got lost in time
On a rather sunny day, I was commuting to work on Bus 30 to Nuremberg. We had just passed the Flughafen while I was reading about the brilliance of Henri Poincaré in Antifragile. I was awestruck, the guy understood chaos theory and relativity before they were even things. How did I not know about him until now?
Thinking back, I realized I've always been drawn to exploring forgotten ideas and people. Why not log and share it? Why not make it public so more people can enjoy these underrated gems?
I am a polymath, so you might find my exploration biased, but that's what attracts me most. Aim is to explore the lives and ideas of the greats who are either forgotten or remain unknown outside their narrow fields of work. I want to understand how they approached everything, from everyday problems to the big questions. Mostly problems, but honestly, I'll write about anything I find interesting or any insight I pick up from them.
We will never know the works that have long since turned to smoke, but let's make the best of whatever is left. Join me as I dig through history's footnotes to find the people and thoughts that deserve a second look.
